Hospital Doctor

The doctor will come in and go over your medical history and review your symptom notes and ask further questions to determine the best course of action. They will check your urine sample for certain things and send off the sample for further analysis, if needed.

The doctor will read your x-rays and to see if the issue is a broken bone, or just in the muscles. If you have broken bones the doctor will set them and put on a cast, or refer you to an orthopedic surgeon, who is a bone specialist. If not, they may prescribe pain relief and/or exercises to heal the muscles.

Some patients require other outside services, such as prescriptions. These prescriptions are filled at the local pharmacy by a pharmacist. If you have a toothache, you will be referred to a dentist to remove the tooth. If you have issues with your eyes, you will be referred to an optometrist for treatment. If you have muscle problems rather than a broken bone, you may be referred to a physiotherapist, or massage therapist.

These notes will be sent to your family doctor or nurse practitioner for follow up visits.
