If you are there for bloodwork you go to the laboratory department. When your name is called by the phlebotomist, you will be asked your name and birthdate again as they check the information on the paperwork to ensure you are in the correct place and are the person they thought they called for. The lab requisition shows what is needed to be checked at that appointment. Bloodwork is the process by which samples of blood are taken from your arm. The samples are sent off to the main lab for analysis. The results of the work will be sent too your family doctor or nurse practitioner.
